Farewell Talk

So yesterday was my farewell! It was such a lovely day and I am so grateful I got to spend it surrounded by friends and family ❤ Here is the transcript of my talk if anyone is interested in reading it. How God Cares For All His Children Through Missionary Service Today I was asked to speak about how God cares for all his children through missionary service. Talk about a broad topic. As I thought about what I wanted to talk about I honestly had no idea where to begin so I decided (with the help of my dad) “why not start simple and narrow it down a little?” I began by taking the question apart to figure out what is being asked. Friendship

SO, yesterday my best friend Steph reported to the Provo MTC to begin her mission to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Canada, Vancouver mission. It was such an important day because it is one that Stephanie and I have been talking about almost as long as we have been friends (6 1//2 years and going strong!!) Here's the short-list version of the lessons our friendship has taught me over the years: I should be confident in myself.  Modesty and integrity are as valuable as they are rare. An eternal perspective is KEY to getting through life's challenges. Education is a wonderful, and invaluable experience and something we should pursue throughout our lives. Sometimes you just need a good cry, and that is totally okay. Disney movies are acceptable for every age group.  Fa

Called to Serve

Hello! Hermana Edgel reporting for duty!... Okay not until July 5th, but I wanted to make a quick introduction and get the ball rolling before it's off to the MTC. SO... let's go back in time to April 13, 2017 when my mom sent me this picture: I honestly was SO excited and SO nervous part of me wanted to rip it open ASAP and another part of me was absolutely terrified and pretty convinced I would never be ready for this next step in my life. I had 3 wishes for my call: I wanted to go stateside, I wanted to speak Spanish, and I wanted to be assigned somewhere warm. The next few hours passed in a blur and then 8:30 rolled around. My friends Jacob and Maddie drove with me to meet my parents at the Manti temple. I took the envelope and walked by myself to the front side of the temple and sat down. I said a quick prayer asking for confirmation that this was the right place and then I opened the envelope and read the letter which read: "Dear Sister Edgel,  You are
